At the start of today’s Remote Voting Session, Senate President Sweeney announced that the Legislature is working on a way to conduct “Virtual Committee Hearings”. I’m hoping they also work out some way for the public to testify in real time for such hearings. We shall see.
There were also three bills that were held today because they “still need to be worked on”:
S2330 COVID-19 Financial Security for Consumers Act (see previous post for details)
S2346 Extends certain permits during COVID-19 emergency. The bill would also extend certain timeframes by which planning and zoning boards have to grant or deny any applications pursuant to the “Municipal Land Use Law.”
S2352 The bill enhances penalties related to the distribution of counterfeit, adulterated, or misbranded drugs or medical devices during a declared state of emergency
